The 2011 Ride of Dreams Washington D.C.
Ride of Dreams route This year the ride goes to Washington, D.C.! The route is a challenging 200 mile trek starting from Neighborhood Bike Works headquarters in Philadelphia on Friday, July 22nd, and ending on the steps of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. on July 24th. The route to D.C. will take riders through southern Pennsylvania Amish farmland, across the Susquehanna River at Susquehannock State Park, and through rolling Maryland countryside on our way to the nation’s capital. There will also be a fun and history filled 40-50 mile ride around D.C. and neighboring areas the day after our arrival in D.C. If the time you can dedicate to the ride is tight, you may choose the 3-day option and return to Philadelphia on Sunday, the day we arrive in D.C., but we don’t think you’ll want to go home.

We will provide some basic services during the ride for your convenience and safety. A SAG support vehicle will travel along the route throughout each day. There will be basic comfort stops provided approximately every 15 miles of the ride, along with a daily lunch stop. A potluck style dinner will be provided each evening. Rider luggage and sleeping bags will be loaded into a truck as the riders take off each morning and delivered to the daily end destination each afternoon. This is a destination ride, so transportation back to Philadelphia for riders, luggage, and bikes will also be provided.
Maps and Cue Sheets for each of the 4 days.
